FAPA’s In-person Pilot Job Fair and Future Pilot Forum Expecting 200 Job-Hunting and Future Pilots

On Saturday, January 22nd, Future & Active Pilot Advisors (FAPA) will be hosting its monthly Pilot Job Fair & Future Pilot Forum at the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel. The event has caught the attention of hundreds of job-hunting aviators and aspiring pilots or all ages, all of them interested in the existing career opportunities in a recently stalled-out, but now ever-booming aviation industry.

Pilot employers such as Air Wisconsin Airlines, GrandView Aviation, Jet It, Kalitta Charters, Mesa Airlines, Premier Private Jets, Republic Airways and Wheels Up will be on-hand to speak with attending job-seeking pilots, either interviewing them on-site or encouraging them to apply immediately for open pilot positions within their ranks.

Orlando area flight schools and colleges are expected to exhibit at FAPA's Future Pilot Forum held at the same venue from 1 to 5 PM. Students, parents and career-changers will benefit from presentations describing the cost and benefits of the pilot profession.

Pilot hiring numbers have swelled to levels never-before seen in the industry, as 2021 broke the record for major airline pilot hiring, previously held by 2000. The twelve major airlines, (Alaska, Allegiant, American, Atlas, Delta, FedEx, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, United and UPS) collectively hired almost 1,000 pilots in December alone and over 5,300 in all of 2021. Projections for next year look to almost double this number. In response to the pending needs, both college-based and independent aviation programs are ramping up their marketing and recruiting efforts as well as forging new and exciting relationships with airlines and charter carriers.

FAPA assists future and active professional pilots in landing a successful cockpit career by providing the information and counseling needed at their monthly Pilot Job Fairs and Future Pilot Forums, which are scheduled around the country, usually on the third Saturday of the month. The 2022 event dates are: 1/22, 2/26, 3/26, 4/23, 5/21, 6/25, 7/16, 8/20, 9/24, 10/22, 11/12 and 12/10.
